Loneliness is A Gift

I can speak from experience by saying being all alone is a very hard feeling to go through, but I can also say it has been when I have grown in such a significant way, especially in my faith. Today I want to share why being lonely does not have to be disheartening, dreadful or a bad thing.

When you feel lonely you may feel like there is no one in your life you can count on, no one truly cares, or everyone is off in their own world while you are just stuck in yours.  When these lonely moments enter into your life, I want you to put your foot down and hand over these hardships loneliness brings all over to God. Replace loneliness with a season of growth. A season of pouring yourself into God since there is no one else to pour into.

Psalm 68:5-6 “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. 6 God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.”

God will be your mother + father when your Earthy parents aren’t here. God will be your friend when you don’t have any. God will be everything you will ever need in a companionship, so look to Him when our earhtly brothers and sisters are not present for you. Look to the Father and you will gain everything you need in a season of loneliness.

God is still working through this season. This time of loneliness is a time to fully trust God with the plan for your life. He will give you new things out of the old. He will give you a home when you have been living in a run-down apartment, and He will lead prisoners out of their darkness and into a proseprity… God will work on what you are waiting for in His timing + plans, not yours.

James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

Loneliness is a reason to not just do the bare minimum of doing your daily devotional and praying before bed, but instead immersing yourself to be closer to God. God will draw you nearer to His truth + light when you recognize His character more and grow closer to Him, just as you would with a friend.
